Why You Should Visit
A community-made festival held at Nadahama Ryokuchi Park, where rapeseed flowers bloom in vivid yellow. Now in its 25th year, the event carries on the spirit of mutual support that grew from the recovery after the Great Hanshin Earthquake. Expect local food stalls, live performances, a bingo tournament, and more — all set against a backdrop of spring blossoms in the heart of the Nishigo district.

WHY VISIT
Just a few stops from Sannomiya, then a 12-minute walk from Hanshin Oishi Station — past an industrial area, you suddenly arrive at a spring wonderland. Rapeseed flowers, Kawazu cherry blossoms, and the red expressway overhead make for a dramatic scene unlike anything else in Kobe. Food options nearby are limited, so grab a bite near the station before heading over. The Sawanotsuru Museum is worth a stop on the way back.
Kawazu Cherry & Rapeseed in Bloom
Pink and yellow flowers bloom side by side from late February to mid-March, though timing varies year to year. Check bloom conditions before visiting.
Red Expressway Meets Spring Blooms
The red Hanshin Expressway pillars cross over the flowers in a scene unique to this park. Shooting from a low angle gives a dramatic result.
Sawanotsuru Museum Nearby
The Sawanotsuru Museum, dedicated to Nada's sake brewing heritage, is within walking distance — easy to visit on the way back.
